Suspension and Handling

The Countryman SE’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (50% to 50%) than the iX’s (48.6% to 51.4%). This gives the Countryman SE more stable handling and braking.

The Countryman SE executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver quicker than the iX xDrive60 (25.7 seconds @ .73 average G’s vs. 26.2 seconds @ .71 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the Countryman SE’s turning circle is 3.3 feet tighter than the iX’s (38.7 feet vs. 42 feet).

Chassis

The MINI Countryman SE may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1000 to 1250 pounds less than the BMW iX.

The Countryman SE is 1 foot, 8.5 inches shorter than the iX, making the Countryman SE easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Cargo Capacity

A standard locking glovebox (which can’t be accessed with the valet key) keeps your small valuables safer in the Countryman SE. The iX doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

Ergonomics

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Countryman SE to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The iX doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

Recommendations
